Beginning of a good rave track, methinks.

What you have up here is downright solid; the bass is something I wasn't expecting to hear but it gives the song its own style and sets it apart from others in that regard. The melody is nice, too; the low tones push the work in the right direction.

Simply expanding upon this "stub" and creating a full 2:00+ song out of it would suffice, but if you worked at improving things you think are off, you could have a serious contender here. With enough luck you could have a weekly top five.

Gonif responds:

thanks!
yeah im working on it.
hopefully it will be done soon.

A well-balanced combination.

This is quite a good low-key song you've got going here. I'm going to say that Ambient is your prevalent genre in this work, but you didn't lie when you said there was hip-hop.

The concepts work well together. The ambient aspect of the song serves as background noise, and does most of the work in setting up the mood, while the hip-hop portions keep the listener's attention and almost "stimulate the mind". They balance each other.

The rhythms and beats themselves are definitely catchy enough to listen to for four minutes, and the occasional piano note aids versatility and changes things up enough. It's an overall pleasant experience and definitely keeps a consistent feel throughout.

Not much else to say; keep up the good work.

AeraDynamic responds:

Wow! Thanks for the constructive Review :D I appreciate that! I tried to keep it as balanced as possible, I wasn't real going for a prevalent Genre to be honest ;)

Exciting, happy, pretty quick.

I like this song in general. It's giving me the "happy vibe" that I haven't felt all day today. On a technical level, I really don't think there's anything super "wrong" or "bad" about this track; everything feels like it fits in well enough and nothing seems like it's out of sync.

It's a good length too. Part of why I liked it was because it was somewhat short. Two and a half minutes works well for this piece.

Nothing in the track made it stand out to me in any grandiose way, but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it. Good job, I like it.

Ambrossys responds:

Aw, I guess I'm not that good at the grandiose part yet, I will learn!

Thanks!

Supposed to be off-beat?

I assume you threw loops together as quickly as you could, etc. If that's the case then 1/10. Otherwise 5/10 for effort. Try again I guess.

Sacrafan responds:

lol do you really think i am this bad?

Interesting, but unfocused.

Although I like the many moods and atmospheres which the song creates, I feel like each section lacks support for the others. Kinda like one of those wooden bridges over a huge cliff that is supported by two ropes. Yeah, it gets the job done, but that thing isn't very tough, if you know what I mean.

Try to slowly transition from section to section over the course of approximately 5-10 seconds. Perhaps you could fade in the section, or you could have a few elements of each movement remain in the next for a certain portion of time.

Also, I feel as if the section at 1:10-1:50 should be at the beginning, followed by what you currently start with. A storm starts out as a drizzle most of the time, and then gradually intensifies before slowly or suddenly dying off.

Also in the 1:10-1:50 section, the clip you used for the melody kinda cuts short. I don't know if this was your intention, but it sounded a tad bit unprofessional. It's not a major issue though,

Otherwise, you've got an adequate work here. I like it.

NewtonClock responds:

Nothing professional about any of my work really. It really was just a little side work I did to distract myself from my chemistry paper, so I originally had no intention of posting it here. THanks for the advice, though.

It's decent.

It's definitely a good start. However, just guitars and drums make for an empty performance, no? It might just be me, but you should either try to get some sort of melodic instrument in this song and come up with a melody which could contrast the guitar part, or create lyrics and rename the song based on them.

Also, the transition from 0:25-0:28 sounded a little awkward. Perhaps its because you downshift so suddenly after one note from the guitar. It might not be, but perhaps the sixteenth drums in the background can slow down more gradually, over three or four seconds.

I'm just toying with ideas. Feel free to act upon whatever you like. At the moment though, this sounds kinda like background music, which is definitely not what metal was made for, save for video game fights and such.

wilb0b responds:

thanks its not quite done yet and there's no lyrics but its a working progress
:/

Stunning; Awesome Job

You know, more music like this is needed on Newgrounds. There isn't enough awesome boss music to listen to, in my opinion.

I like how you introduce the Guitar at the halfway point, it's definitely my favorite part. The dynamics were suitable for a boss battle, and the song seems like you can loop it, which is awesome.

Awesome work man, I hope you make more awesome music.

NemesisTheory responds:

Well, if it's up to me (and it really isnt!) I can always make more for you guys <3.

It is indeed designed to loop for games and movies that intend to use it longer than 2 minutes, helps out the authors a bit I think. :)

And don't worry, you'll hear from me again. ;D

Learning the ropes of producing electronic music, dreaming of one day reaching a professional level and having my music heard by tons of people around the world.
